What parents bring to the clinic.

Children are brought most often for poor appetite and digestion, low immunity and frequent illness, cold and cough that keep returning, worms, and skin issues. Ayurveda has a long tradition of children’s care — Kaumarabhritya is one of its eight classical branches — and its medicines are chosen and dosed for a child.

Commonly treated

  • Poor appetite, indigestion, constipation or loose motions
  • Low immunity — a child who is always unwell
  • Recurring cold, cough and congestion
  • Skin problems — rashes, dryness, eczema
  • Worms and stomach pain

Gentle medicines, clear guidance.

Doses are set by the child’s age and build, preparations are chosen to be gentle and easy to take, and parents leave with simple guidance on food, sleep and routine — the part of the treatment that happens at home. Treatment aims to relieve symptoms and address the root cause; results vary from child to child.

  • What to expect
  • A calm consultation with the child and a parent together
  • A plan the family can actually follow — food, routine and medicines in that order
  • Follow-ups as the child grows and the plan changes

Frequently asked questions.

Are Ayurvedic medicines suitable for children?

Classical preparations chosen and dosed for a child are a long-standing part of Ayurveda. Tell the doctor about any other medicines the child takes, so the plan accounts for them.

From what age do you see children?

Bring the child along; the doctor will advise what is appropriate for that age and build.
